    EXHIBITION OPENS SEPTEMBER 9, 2010
     Reception, September 18 | 7pm

A Moment of Truth, the Rangefinder Chronicles is curated exhibition by Diana Millar & Quinton Gordon, of local & international documentary photography that explores the concept of "the moment" and our understanding of "truth" in photography and the role of the photographer as editorialist.

The digital age of photography has eroded our ability to trust imagery as the level of both aesthetic and content manipulation increases to the point that "truth" has become little more then an abstract concept within the photographic image.

The works selected for this exhibition are all made using rangefinder cameras that allow the photographer to see the moment they capture without interruption and in each case the image captured is manipulated only by the photographers sense of the moment as they have framed it.

One of the most famous rangefinder system, is the Lecia system. And they put it best, "no overcomplicated menus, just the freedom to capture the decisive moment."
