The power of the still photographic image to affect change and motivate people to action has not been diluted even in our media saturated environment. International NGOs (Non-governmental Organizations) of all sizes use photography in their fight to improve social, medical, political and environmental standards around the world. As photographers this type work can be the most meaningful and rewarding, allowing us to truly connect with, and directly affect the issues we care about.

Join award winning documentary photographer Quinton Gordon for this five-day intensive workshop designed to simultaneously further your visual story telling capacity as well as deepen your understanding of the communications needs that NGOs have.

Each day combines lectures, discussions and critiques with actual fieldwork on location making photographs that will be used by the communications department of the Victoria Hospitals Foundation to directly benefit their fund raising efforts and strategic communications.  Participants will have daily assignments photographing in various departments at a local hospital, working with real patients, as well as both individual and group editing and critique sessions with Quinton.

Workshop participants should be comfortable working with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. For those who choose to work with film we will have film processed and scanned daily.

REGISTER ONLINE (once your registration is received, we will contact you in regards to the interview process).
