On the first day, Dave will show you how to prepare and output digital files that are suitable for contact printing processes such as platinum / palladium, cyanotype or callotype.
Working with Pictorico OHP Transparency Film and an Epson printer, participants will have the opportunity to make enlarged negatives from their image files. Participants are required to bring a selection of digital image files suitable for printing up to 8.5 x 11 inches.
The platinum printing process is one of the most stable and tonally rich photographic process ever developed. This workshop will give you an introduction to this unique historical process, and allows you to print images of your own.
Beginning Sunday morning, participants will have the opportunity to make platinum / palladium prints from their negatives. Dave will provide detailed instruction on preparing the emulsion, coating the paper, exposing and processing the finished print.
You must bring digital negatives, or good large format negatives, suitable for contact printing (4x5, 5x7 or 8x10).
