Low Fidelity, A Juried Exhibition of Pinhole & Toy Cameras
December 3rd - 23rd, 2009
Duane Prentice
Low Fidelity, opened on December 3rd and as promised, it was an exciting showcase of fine creative photography made with "crappy cameras".
Toy camera and pinhole photography reconnects image making to the fundamentals of playful, creative seeing. The equipment is ultra low tech, often home made or cheaply made with simple plastic lenses, light leaks, and are generally unpredictable or even unreliable. Low fidelity image making has attracted artists at every level who have an appreciation for these qualities and for making great images without relying on technology.
