Modern print on demand technology has raised the bar for independent photo book publishing and professional quality results now possible at a reasonable investment.

Weather your interest is in making only a few books for personal fulfillment or in independent publishing as part of your business model this two day course will guide you through the fundamentals of editing, sequencing, layout, design and production using Blurb Books and their free Book Smart software.

Workshop participants should come prepared with a selection of images from a project (50 to 100 images) that they want to use to make a book. Please bring all your images as small prints (cheap 4x5 or 5x7 prints are perfect) as well as electronic files (Jpeg or Tiff) capable of producing an 9x13 inch print at 300 ppi.

Day one will focus on editing and sequencing book projects as well as provide an introduction to production considerations including how to make a book dummy using their prints. We will also examine colour management, production software and marketing considerations for self-published books. On day two you will prepare your book for printing through Blurb Books.
