Have you ever wanted to make your own books?
Join artist/educator Liz Rubincam as she introduces you to the fundamentals of sewing and making your own softcover books. No experience needed! This will be a fun morning of sewing and stitching three softcover books.
Basic bookbinding terms and techniques will be discussed in detail, preparing you to build upon and adapt your skills following the workshop.
Individual binding kits will be provided (including needles, glue, waxed thread, binding tape, blank and patterned papers)
If you can bring any of the following equipment, please bring to the workshop:
-bone folder
-cutting mat (11x14 inches recommended)
-awl (bookbinders awl)
-steel ruler (at least 15 inches long)
-utility knife and extra blades
Bookbinding tools and supplies are available at Island Blue, Opus, and Art World
