    A Moment of Truth

Our next exhibition is A Moment of Truth / The Rangefinder Chronicles, for which we have curated a collection of work by Canadian and international documentary photographers. These diverse works explore our understanding of "truth" in photography and the role of the documentary photographer as "editorialist" and storyteller in the framework of contemporary media.

The digital age of photography has eroded our ability to trust imagery as the level of both aesthetic and content manipulation increases to the point that "truth" has become little more then an abstract concept within the photographic image.

The works selected for this exhibition are all made using rangefinder cameras that allow the photographer to see the moment they capture without interruption and in each case the image captured is manipulated only by the photographers sense of the moment as they have framed it.

On Saturday, September 18th Leica Cameras is co-hosting an opening reception from 7-9pm at the gallery, and we will have demos and presentations of Leica equipment throughout the day so watch our EVENTS page for details.
